“To attain knowledge, add things everyday. To attain wisdom, remove things every day.” - Lao Tzu

The Script: Mydidae by Jack Thorne
Key Points from this weeks session:
When you've embodied the prep you're free to let it go once the scene starts.
If in doubt, trust that you speaking the lines from a place of truth will in most cases be enough.
Don't judge the character, humanise them.
Where we struggled:
Marian's line: "You can go in - to work tomorrow. You should go in to work tomorrow. Work will require you tomorrow."
How to overcome?
Keep asking why. Why is she saying this? How does it tie into her super objective? Is the writer giving me in any pointers (yes - the pause and lack of response from David).
Highlight of the session:
Not a single bad take this week. Unreal consistency across the board from everyone. I could pick out so many moments, but what stood out:
Nuria's discovery in finding truth at the top of the scene.
Micaela's physical discomfort when the 'As If' was applied.
Sofie's unhinged brokenness.
Andrew's simmering resentment in his final take.
Angelina's bravery to be that vulnerable in her first ever session - coming in HOT, we love to see it.
Laugh out loud moments:
TJM 'pissing' himself in the CT Scan.
Amirat making an uninteresting story, interesting.
Nuria just in general...
Thanks for another wonderful session and for making the commitment to come in to session despite the heat.
Have a brilliant week and I look forward to seeing you next week.
